Angel Santos walks the halls of her high school simply trying to fit in, much to the dismay of her best friend Alice. During the last week of their junior year, Alice has devised a four-point-plan to make both of them popular when school returns for their senior year. Angel has no choice but to get on board, despite her desire to kick back and watch Being Human marathons and eat Rocky Road ice cream. Unfortunately for Alice and Angel, the universe has another plan for Angel. Angel returns home from school after reluctantly agreeing to accompany Alice to a party, and finds three archangels in her room. One of the archangels, her betrayer Zadkiel, had been the only one that knew Angel’s secret. She had once been an archangel named Ariel, until she died in battle, and was reborn on earth human. Unlike every other angel to be reborn, she not only remembers everything about her angelic life, but she also has most of her abilities. Angel has to give up her desire to simply fit in as she deals with Alice’s obsession with popularity, her own attraction to a lost soul named Jacob and a clairvoyant named Tom, while stopping the apocalypse and ending what is being called the Age of Darkness.
